Transforming India through Coaching

Everyone is bound to experience pain and hurt in life but what matters is one’s reaction to it. In today’s fast-paced world, ‘more is less’. There’s a lot more to be done in very little time. The youth of India is already grappling with high-stress levels at work and personal life apart from internal conflicts. This has a direct impact on health - physical as well as mental. The current need of the hour is to identify these issues and work towards bringing about a change.

What we need is an immediate and an appropriate support system that can help people rebuild their low self-esteem levels and discover the true meaning of life. And, one self-help organization is working towards inspiring, empowering and transforming.

Tava-Mitram is bringing about a wave of change to the way India will pave ahead to be a nation that is free from tension, sadness, stress and more. This is a non-judgemental self-help coaching group poised to change the way our system works.

Transforming India through Coaching

Founded by Dr. Paras and Ms. Ekktaa Daithankar, Tava-Mitram is created with an objective to help people live their lives in a meaningful way. The group has a mission to transform every person irrespective of their backgrounds and past/current traumas giving them the hope to rebuild their lives again. They also have the vision to facilitate 100 such self-help groups (20 people each) by the year 2020. Their plans include seminars in various forums to increase self-awareness among people. All Mitra coaches have completed 240 hours of training under the able supervision of Dr. Paras for every session.

Time does help us heal ourselves, but we don’t need to live under a rock and wait for that time to pass. It’s about taking the reins of our life to confront issues that build a better version of you,” says Dr. Paras when quizzed about this initiative.

It’s about looking at the mirror this time to know your real self. It’s understanding there is hope and this too shall pass.

This is a niche platform that aims to empower the less-fortunate by using coaching as a medium to communicate and heal the mind, body, and soul. As our mind tends to stow away the pain, a majority are not equipped to deal with this emotional stress. The Tava-Mitram coaches show how to heal these emotional wounds as the hurt will eventually pass and the scars will fade away. Rather than masking one’s pain to avoid it, the focus is on letting go of what no longer serves your purpose. By acknowledging pain, group members can use this emotion as a powerful tool to learn a lesson that is truly empowering.

It’s about looking at the mirror this time to know your real self. It’s understanding there is hope and this too shall pass.

Tava-Mitram puts the focus on -

  • Finding happiness and peace within self
  • Improving our relationships with family, friends, colleagues
  • Dealing with self-conflict
  • Overcoming sadness, dysfunctional emotions and thoughts
  • Creating a life filled with purpose
  • Eradicating negative thoughts
  • Using the power of positive thinking to achieve more from life
  • Self-motivation techniques
  • Increasing self-awareness levels - focus on our thoughts, feelings, and behavior
  • Understanding how our behavior can impact others around us
  • Dealing with the negative effects of bullying and healing ourselves
  • Overcoming overthinking

This self-help organization also plans to highlight one major issue this year, which we often turn a blind eye to - bullying.

How does Tava-Mitram work to make a difference?

In this group, an individual can find a sacred space to heal their emotional wounds by giving them the much-needed boost to spread their wings. The group is aimed to help people realize their own potential for eliminating the need to live with the long-term consequences of their past experiences and traumas or current internal conflicts. With a greater awareness of the soul, there is an opportunity to heal and begin a transformation process.

It’s about taking that step from fear to love.

Each group includes a minimum number of 20 members. A member can freely express his/her problems without the worry of social bias. Mitra coaches work in step to develop stronger minds that can handle any adversity. Mitra coaches are experts who conduct this activity at no cost at all.

Take that step from fear to love

Currently, the Mitra coaches include Kalpna Joshi (Numerologist) and Shashikant Daithankar (Social Worker) along with Savita Marathe (Student Counselor), Vineet Gundecha (Entrepreneur), Pawan Saini (Corporate L&D head), Shekhar Tamhankar (Corporate), and Apoorv Athawale (counselor). The team will soon witness an expansion. Sessions are conducted in Hindi as well as the local language (Marathi). Group registrants need to enroll in a 3-month contract which includes 2 hours sessions (twice a month) for level 1.

A not-for-profit organization, Tava-Mitram uses the power of coaching to help people cope with their past issues, fix the problem and put their best foot forward with a smile. The organization has a mission to offer renewed hope to victims who have suffered silently so far. Any person from the age of 18 years - 65 years can be a part of this group.

The focus?

Look deeper within yourself and make those little changes that alter our day, months and subsequent years. Because, if you don’t take that step ahead, you’ll be in the same place forever.

Members can be a part of our Facebook group discussions to connect with others who have faced similar situations. We offer an opportunity for members to heal themselves and lead a life filled with purpose. We feel happy to know our efforts are changing lives,” adds Dr. Paras. He also emphasizes the Mitra coaches aim to sensitize people by helping them understand the impacts of one’s behavior on others. This is about bringing an increased awareness to one’s own thoughts and feelings and understanding its relationship with others.

Turning the spotlight on bullying

A serious threat to the current generation of India, bullying has tremendous psychological and societal effects that can be damaging in the long run. Victims who have been bullied have displayed distinctive patterns as adults. Cyberbullying, name-calling, and attempting to harm a person physically are most often inflicted by the victim’s own friends, relatives, or rivals. People who have been mistreated for a great number of years commonly struggle and develop trust issues and in extreme cases, psychiatric problems as well.

This repeated verbal or physical behavior with the use of insults towards a child or an adult is offensive as it causes humiliation to the victim involved. This humiliation if untreated, can have devastating results on the life of the victim and people associated with him/her. This will be a major focus area in the following months to bring about a change for Tava-Mitram.

Are we raising a generation of young India that is confused, unhappy, disturbed and at unrest, always looking for instant gratification? “Tava-Mitram aims to change this precisely using the power of coaching to create energies that are positive and vibrant. We want to work on using the power of our mind to handle all our worries,” says Dr. Paras.

So, can we hope for a better India, one that is free from emotional turbulence? A place where individuals can be stronger and mentally resilient to transform their lives with their thoughts? One where low self-esteem levels would no longer suffer in silence?

The founders believe so with conviction to free India from tension, sadness, self-doubt and emotional trauma to create mentally strong citizens building a better future. The Mitra coaches firmly emphasize life is a work of art and you can certainly visualize it in every way you want it to be
