What Is An Abundance Mindset?

“I want a house, a car and a good bank balance.”

“I don’t have enough money to travel; I need more finances.”

“Why am I not able to achieve success?”

“I need a better half for my life”

You might have heard similar thoughts and expressions from people all around. These are quite common; you might have also uttered a few of these at some point of time in your life. These all stem out from the common lack mentality. The very perception that we don’t have these and want these leads to this lack mindset.

On the contrary, below are some thoughts for an abundance mindset.

“I can have a big house, a car and a heavy bank balance”.

“I have every opportunity to have enough money to travel.”

“I have the power to achieve success.”

“I am totally complete.”

Scarcity Mindset vs Abundance Mindset

Do you feel the difference? While the first set of statements represent you don’t have something and want it. These mean that you are currently in the state of lack. You are conveying the message that you are lacking these desires of yours. Whereas, the last set of statements indicate that you believe you already have these or that you are capable enough to have these. 

You are conveying the message that the world is full of opportunities and that you can certainly fulfil your desires. You are expressing your power and ability to meet any of your dreams. You believe in yourself. Well, that’s the abundance mentality.

Have you ever been to a nice restaurant and enjoyed a wonderful delicacy? While coming back, have you lamented over a high bill? Have you been on wonderful trips, but cribbed about the vacation ending and getting back to boring life? Instead of raving over the positive aspects, why do you focus on the negative experiences?

You can always immerse yourself in the feel of savouring the wonderful food or engulfing the mesmerising views of the trip. But, instead of dwelling into the abundance mindset, your brain tends to drift towards the negativity of the events. That’s natural!

The mind of yours is by default designed to make you think negatively. Owing to our upbringing amidst millions of different emotions in the society, your brain has been wired to think about survival. It’s always on the lookout for the bad. But you have the choice to rewire your brain towards abundance.

What is an Abundance Mindset?

Abundance mindset refers to the state of mind where you believe that you have enough resources and possibilities to be happy and abundant. Instead of a scarcity mindset, your mind can reprogram to focus on all that you have and can have in future.

Believe in the infinite possibilities. You have infinite opportunities around in this world to attract anything you want. You need to first believe it. This shift in perspective can bring immense change in your life.

With an abundant mindset, you always stay in the present. You celebrate everything around and be happy with whatever you have. Open your fist to give everything that you have. Have an open hand to also receive all the possibilities that come your way. You appreciate others and never feel jealous of anything when you dwell in an abundance mindset.

With this positive approach towards life, you do not attach yourself to materialistic possessions of the world. Because, if they are not meant to be yours, they will never be. If they are yours, they will find a way to you.

People with an abundance mindset are always dynamic and rising high in their lives. Be it entrepreneurial ventures, professional avenues or personal life, you will be open towards new ideas and receptive to opportunities with abundant perception.

How to Develop Abundance Mindset?

The question is when the majority of people around you reside in scarcity beliefs, how can you develop an abundant mindset?

1. Practice Mindfulness

Be mindful and fully aware of every single thing around you. Always remember, everything happens for a reason. So instead of worrying about the past or future, be in the present and be mindful about all that surrounds you.

2. Practice Gratitude

“When you are grateful, fear disappears and abundance appears.” ~ Tony Robbins

Nothing like expressing thankfulness for whatever you have! That gives you a lot of power and motivation to move ahead in life. If you are content with what you have, that already indicates that you have an abundant mindset. Either say in your heart that you are thankful or write it down. Express gratitude in the true sense from your heart and this will help you develop an abundance mindset.

3. Believe in Infinite Possibilities

If the sky is infinite, why are your possibilities finite? You need to be aware of the fact that you can always achieve anything you want in life. When you are too stringent about a single possibility, you tend to lose out on others. 

4. Surround Yourself with Positivity

Always have positive people around – they are the ones who are in an abundant mindset. Abundant people always promote others and cheer them on.

5. Meditate

This needs no introduction! Meditate to calm your monkey mind and focus on haves instead of have nots. This will allow positive thoughts to flow into your brain.

6. Pursue What You Love

Majority of the people just focus on survival. They just do things to get them done. You tend to just follow the common patterns of others and your brain is naturally programmed to do the “obvious”. Does one single bill fit all? Then, why just follow others and not consciously think about yourself? Focus on the bigger picture. Understand what your soul wants to do. That brings you to the abundant mindset.
